Following the suspension of Air Caraïbes flights between Saint-Martin and Paris, Frantz Gumbs said he was surprised by this announcement, given that he had received a promise that the company would resume flights at the end of the year. The MP for Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin is demanding explanations and transparency.
For several days, the local media in Saint-Martin have been reporting that Air Caraïbes will not be operating direct flights between Princess Juliana International Airport and Paris, contrary to its announcement last April. It will be offering flights departing from Grand Case Airport with a connection in Pointe-à-Pitre. Air France will therefore be the only airline to operate direct flights Princess Juliana/Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Information that surprised the deputy of the Northern Islands, Frantz Gumbs, who immediately sent an official letter to the Air Caraïbes company to request explanations.

According to an internal source, the removal of the service would result “summer results that were not in line with the objectives”. Hence the decision to strengthen its Saint-Martin/Paris flights via Pointe-à-Pitre.
People are quite unhappy. I would at least like Air Caraïbes to be transparent and explain why things are happening.
