The Transsexual Inclusion Movement (MOVIT) association will launch a vaccination campaign against Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Hepatitis A, B and C, as well as Syphilis, in the Veracruz – Boca del Río metropolitan area.
According to Rafaela Cano, deputy director of MOVIT, the campaign will begin this Tuesday, November 5 at 9:00 in the morning at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Veracruzana (UV), located on Agustín de Iturbide Street, in the Centro neighborhood of the port of Veracruz.
“It is important that everyone understands that It is no longer a community in general.“But we are all exposed from the moment we actively have sexual relations, so we have to understand that we have to take care of ourselves and the best way to take care of ourselves is to know our health status.”
In addition to vaccination, MOVIT will also carry out the first testicular cancer prevention and prostate, open to both the trans community and the general public.
The deputy director of MOVIT highlighted the importance of these preventive actionsespecially for trans women, due to hormonal treatments and particular health conditions that increase certain risks.
“Precisely we, both for the conditions in which we have sexual relationsas well as the conditions of hormonal treatment, as well as the conditions of surgeries that we require, it is a very recurrent disease, prostate cancer or throat cancer […] “It is a day for trans women, but be careful it will be open to the public.”
Within the activities there will also be offered a Patient and Family Forum at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as well as multidisciplinary care from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
