Since January, the company, whose international headquarters is in Rennes, has moved into its sumptuous new premises. “We don’t know it much, but Rennes is not only famous for its expertise in cybersecurityrecalls Jacques Le Mancq, CEO. It is also the city of video streaming. This is the perfect place for us! »

The five partners in the company’s initiative employ 330 employees, including 220 employees in Rennes. Broapeak mainly employs computer engineers for software development, project managers, marketing managers, salespeople, etc. who make their mark in this vast 6,000 m2 building organized around a central atrium serving the five floors. Its architecture was designed to encourage exchanges and the emergence of ideas. The place is bright, uses little energy, has terraces and a breathtaking view of a large part of the city.

The student residence accommodates 215 residents.

CapÉtudes houses 215 students

Jules is 18 years old, he lives in Paimpol and is enrolled in the first year of medicine in Rennes. Since the start of the school year in September, he has occupied one of the 215 apartments in the CapÉtudes student residence in the Movies complex, a one-room apartment of 18 m2. Like his classmates, the majority of whom take the courses given on the Beaulieu campus, he appreciates the equipment, equipped with a fitness room, a coworking space… But, studious, the young man hardly does he authorize a table football with his revision companion? “I know that parties were organized at the beginning of the school year to allow everyone to meet, then for Halloween, but I don’t really have time to go. I have a competition to prepare for » underlines Jules. It costs between €240 and €620 to benefit from a room or duplex at CapÉtudes.

Creative Seeds… seeds for image and animation artists

A majestic oak tree stands right in front of the entrance to the Movies ? No problem, the wooden access walkway will go around the trunk of the tree. This is where Creative Seeds has been taking root since last September, a school-ecosystem inspired by the Freinet method, which trains people in animated cinema and computer-generated image creation techniques. “We welcomed our first class in 2017, rewinds one of the founders, Camille Campion, who co-directs this independent, non-profit school, operating as a cooperative and adept at horizontal management. The more experienced students coach the new ones and there are no barriers between promotions within a specialty. We train in three or five years after the baccalaureate in five different specialties: animation and direction, creation of sets, characters, water or explosion simulations in order to then work on special effects in films, video games, cartoons or for industrial uses. » 200 students are expected from the next school year with a long-term objective of 300 learners.

The Red Unicorn turns up the volume!

La Unicorne Rouge took over the ground floor of the spaces occupied by Creative Seeds, installing impressive sound recording equipment, four recording studios and as many control rooms. The studio-school was born from the imagination and know-how of a passionate sound engineer from Rennes, Ted Beauvarlet. From meetings to collaborations, the Red Unicorn deployed an atypical apprenticeship program, in nine months, teaching sound professions, combining theoretical learning and field application experiments. Recording studios, which welcome musicians in residence or emerging artists, constitute a formidable real-size learning environment. The Red Unicorn trains between 15 and 18 young people each year in sound recording, mixing, sync, mastering, etc.
