movie reveals Captain America’s worst nightmare

A news image from multiverse hiding in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessor Doctor Strange 2 for the intimate, reveals what is the biggest nightmare of Captain Americaalthough we’d all love to learn more about him in an upcoming storyline.

Doctor Strange 2 : A very complete multiverse

When Marvel Studios first announced its plans for the sequel to Doctor Strangeit was quickly confirmed that the film would explore the multiverse in much greater depth than any other project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Sam Raimi’s Final Cut Features Only Three Different Universeseven if a rather long sequence tease a lot of them. Thanks to America Chavez’s powers to travel the multiverse, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness included a fun moment where she and Stephen Strange tumble through two dozen distinct universes. The sequence is rather fast and it is unfortunately necessary to pause in order to make the most of all the details, cameos and Easter eggs present inside them.

In total, this sequence only lasts 40 seconds but was more than enough to slip in very many references concerning the mutlivers, only for crazy people who like to watch a movie at x0.005 speed. Thanks to them, Marvel fans have spotted huge clues, such as the Living Tribunal recognizable by its three heads, a world full of dinosaurs that can be Savage Land, but also a world made of paintings, another of high technology as well as Earth-838 where the rest of the film takes place. But our heroes also cross a black and white world, where an airship with the Hydra organization logo is clearly recognizable : it is Hydra World. A world where the fascist terrorist organization reigns supreme. The scene can be seen in the video below:

An anti-Captain America world?

This revelation is only the last example of the quantity of universes contained in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Yet Hydra has only played a minor role in the MCU’s total story since. Captain America: The Winter Soldierwhere Captain America and others destroy SHIELD after Hydra takes control of it. The visible world in Doctor Strange 2 is not a continuation of this story, but rather an alternate universe to the “What if…?” who imagines that Captain America didn’t stop Hydra in WWII. A world that is now completely ruled by the fascist terrorist organization.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to learn more about this within the MCU, and it’s highly likely thatwith the withdrawal of Captain America, at least, of the one who had to do with Hydra, this branch is no longer explored. But maybe since the events of Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the revelation of John Walker as US Agent, all of this may resurface in the events of Secret Empire.
