The emergency services moved out to Bogstadveien on Majorstuen on Wednesday morning after a report of smoke development from the fifth floor.
The fire brigade moved out with seven fire trucks, and announced at 8.30 on Twitter that the fire had been extinguished.
A person is treated by a healthcare professional after inhaling smoke. It is currently unknown what caused the fire.
– There was a lot of smoke, and a fire was reported in the building a little over 8 o’clock, says duty commander in Oslo 100-central, Hans Erik Tysdal, to TV 2.
He says the reason why large resources were sent was, among other things, that tram rails run outside the building, and that a possible power outage of these would require extra resources.
According to Tysdal, there were open flames at the site, but the fire was quickly located and extinguished early.
– We still have three pictures on site, which work to ventilate smoke and take a final check, says Tysdal.
Police are routinely launching an investigation to find the cause of the fire.
