As of today, it is no longer necessary to wear a mouth cap in public transport. It was one of the first corona measures to be introduced, and one of the last to be abolished.
From today, it is no longer necessary to wear a mouth cap in taxis, coaches and on ferries. It remains mandatory at the airport and on the plane. But many Dutch airlines have already said that they are not going to be active to check whether passengers wear a face mask on the plane.
Testing for access disappears
Also disappearing is testing for access to nightclubs and non-seat events with more than 500 visitors. This means that there are no longer any locations in the Netherlands where you need to show your corona ticket to enter. The CoronaCheck app may still be required for traveling abroad.
For travelers to the Netherlands from EU and Schengen countries, the obligation to have a test, recovery or vaccination certificate will also disappear as of today. Travelers must complete a health declaration. This also applies to EU citizens who want to travel to the Netherlands from outside the European Union.
EU entry ban remains in place
Unvaccinated citizens from outside the EU and the Schengen area are still not allowed to enter the EU. An exception to this rule applies to travelers from safe countries and sometimes also to travelers with a recovery certificate.
Such a proof of recovery no longer has to be issued on the basis of a positive PCR test. As of today, the Netherlands also accepts recovery certificates issued on the basis of a positive antigen test.
Advice, but no obligations
Many recommendations remain in force, but these are not obligations. Thus, the advice remains to test in case of complaints. And anyone who tests positive is expected to go into isolation at home, just like now. But that is also not an obligation, just like the advice to quarantine in some cases if someone in the immediate vicinity has corona.
