Mouse and keyboard: Razer targets the workplace

Razer has introduced a new mouse and keyboard that are explicitly not aimed at gamers. The Pro Click and Pro Type are intended for the workplace and – unlike what is usual with Razer – are therefore very inconspicuous.

Both devices are white, the accents are light gray. There is no RGB lighting on either the mouse or the keyboard. Usually the colored LEDs are characteristic of the products of the Californian manufacturer.

The Pro Type keyboard has a classic structure with twelve F-keys and a number pad. Razer’s orange-colored mechanical switches are used as switches, which have a tactile stop but no click. Accordingly, they should be quiet enough not to disturb anyone at work.

Keyboard keys fully programmable

Razer states that the switches have a durability of up to 80 million clicks. The Pro Type can also be wirelessly connected to up to four devices via WLAN and Bluetooth. The keys are fully programmable and can also be assigned macros – the keyboard is therefore also suitable for gaming. The backlight is white.

The mouse Pro Click was designed in collaboration with the Humanscale design studio and is ergonomically shaped. The wrist is positioned at a 30 degree angle, which is intended to reduce stress. The mouse should be suitable for both small and large hands.

Razer’s optical 5G sensor is used to scan the position. The mouse has eight buttons, all of which can be programmed and should allow up to 50 million clicks. The Pro Click can be connected to up to four devices, the battery should last 400 hours on one charge.

The Pro Type keyboard costs 150 euros, the Pro Click mouse 110 euros. A gray mouse pad is also available for 12 euros. The new products are available in Razer’s online shop, and the devices should also be available from specialist retailers from August 27, 2020.
