Gian Pero Ventrone (62) dies, a press release the Tottenham Hotspur club this Thursday. According to the Italian press and the Gazzetta dello SportVentrone died of sudden acute leukemia.
Physical trainer alongside Antonio Conte at Tottenham, Ventrone was best known for having been part of the iconic Juventus staff in Turin. He refereed between 1994 and 2004 at Juve, and would have participated a lot in athletically sculpting the young Zinedine Zidane. He won the Champions League in 1996.
Later Ravanelli’s assistant at Ajaccio, he then worked as a physical trainer in Catania, at JS Suning, in Guangzhou, before joining Antonio Conte at Tottenham.
