The death of Raphaël Avocefohoun, sound engineer at the national radio station of the Office of Radio and Television of Benin (ORTB), was a great loss for the Office and the entire Beninese community. He died this Saturday at the CNHU in Cotonou following an illness, shortly before retiring this year.
Raphaël Avocefohoun worked at the national ORTB radio for many years and was known for his magic of the airwaves which ensured his daily presence in all the families of Benin. He was a voice and image scout, working humbly and unobtrusively to ensure exceptional sound quality on every show.
The death of Raphaël Avocefohoun provoked many emotional reactions, in particular from Joseph Djogbénou, President of the Progressive Union Party, who paid tribute to his contribution to the radio and television sector in Benin. He underlined the importance of the daily presence of Raphaël Avocefohoun in Beninese homes thanks to his magic of the waves.
The ORTB also expressed its sadness and its gratitude towards Raphaël Avocefohoun for his remarkable work on the national radio, which made it possible to improve the quality of the programs and to guarantee an irreproachable distribution of the programs.
