Tottenham Hotspur coach Jose Mourinho has started setting goals to support the English capital team next season, hoping to continue competing for one of the UEFA Champions League seats.
The struggle to qualify for the UEFA Champions League has intensified in the Premier League this season, as Tottenham Hotspur is chasing Manchester United Wolverhampton teams to snatch fifth place, which has qualified for the most prominent continental championship, after the penalty imposed by the European Football Association against Manchester City, by depriving them of posts European season for two seasons, because he violated the regulations for fair financial play.
The newspaper “Mirror” confirmed that the Portuguese coach aims to sign Lucas Vasquez, the wing of Real Madrid, which remains a single season in his contract with the Spanish capital club.
Mourinho hopes to increase his offensive solutions, despite the contracting with Dutch Stephen Birkhaven last January, and to provide distinguished levels, along with the presence of South Korean Sun Hyung Min, Brazilian Lucas Moura and English playmaker Delle Alli.
The British newspaper added that Real Madrid does not mind the departure of Vasquez, but he hopes to obtain 25 million euros in exchange for abandoning his services, but Tottenham seeks to settle the deal for only 19 million euros, in addition to additional items as incentives.
Supporting the Tottenham midfield is one of Mourinho’s top priorities, especially after frustrating the inconsistency of Tangai Ndombele, the former Lyon player who joined the English capital team in a historic deal, for 65 million pounds last summer.
Despite his disappointing appearance this season, Ndumbele remains among the priorities of many major European teams, most notably Barcelona, who seeks to exploit Tottenham’s interest in contracting former Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho, who did not get along with the Catalans, to complete a mutual deal.
Mourinho strongly welcomes the contract with Coutinho, and the option of borrowing it from Barcelona was offered last January, but the entry of Ndumbele into the deal will open the door to joining him permanently, to represent a huge boost to Mourinho’s ambitions.
The French newspaper “Le Parisien” also confirmed that Mourinho is deeply impressed by the services of French midfielder Morgan Sanson, and places him among his top priorities in the next transfer period.
However, signing with Sanson may not be easy for the English capital club, after the French newspaper itself confirmed that Newcastle was targeting the player, in light of his readiness to complete the transfer of his ownership to the Saudi investment fund.
