Son Heung-min only appearing one round at a time Tottenham Hotspur against Newcastle United. Jose Mourinho reveals the reason why Son only played 45 minutes.
Tottenham host Newcastle in the third Premier League weekend. Compete at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday (9/27/2020) evening WIB, the hosts were forced to draw 1-1.
Lucas Moura gave Tottenham the lead through his goal in the 25th minute. Callum Wilson’s penalty in injury time then ruined Tottenham’s victory.
After performing brilliantly by scoring four goals in the match against Southampton last week, Son only played one round in the match against Newcastle. The South Korean player was pulled out at half-time and was replaced by Steven Bergwijn.
Jose Mourinho revealed that Son had an injury. The Portuguese manager said Son had problems with his hamstring.
“It is an injury. He will be out for a while. His hamstring,” Mourinho said as quoted Sky Sports.
At the start of the season, Mourinho highlighted the busy schedule that Tottenham had to pass in three competitions at once. Mourinho will not be surprised if other players will follow Son into the treatment room.
“This is just the first. I imagine Tuesday there will be more (injured), Thursday there will be more, and maybe Sunday some more players,” said Mourinho.
Son Heung-min is expected to be absent when Tottenham face Chelsea in the last 16 of the Premier League Cup, Tuesday (29/09/2020). He is also predicted to miss the play-off match against Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League, Thursday (1/10/2020), and face Manchester United in the Premier League next week.
