Jakarta –
Coach AS Roma Jose Mourinho responding to accusations that he deliberately received a red card to avoid it Inter Milan. That’s what Mourinho said.
The Portuguese coach received a red card when Roma hosted Monza at the Stadio Olimpico, Sunday (22/10). He was sent off by the referee in the final minutes because he was deemed to be mocking the opponent’s side by making movements like crying with his hands.
As a result of the red card, Mourinho will be absent from Roma in the next match. Roma will travel to Inter Milan’s headquarters at the Giuseppe Meazza, Monday (30/10) early morning WIB.
Rumors emerged that Mourinho had deliberately received a red card so as not to take part in the visit to Inter, the team he had brought to the treble. Mourinho firmly denied this.
“Many stupid people have said things that only stupid people can say. Even more stupid are some people from the world of football who have said it. I am the Roma coach, I want to be with my team,” Mourinho told Sky Sports Italia.
“Unfortunately what happened in the last minutes of the match against Monza happened. What I regret is that I will not be able to accompany my players.”
“I don’t know whether I deserved the red card or not, but it should be the same for everyone. I’ve seen other coaches give the same signal as me, others even worse, but for me it’s always the same.”
“I’ve had the right attitude all season, now I’ve been sent off. However, if that’s the case for me, it should be the same for everyone,” said Jose Mourinho.
