Mourinho Calls Zaniolo No Longer To Wear Roma Uniform

Jakarta

AS Roma facing problem questions Nicholas Zaniolo. Jose Mourinho said that Zaniolo no longer wanted to play for Roma, but also could not leave.

Zaniolo has expressed his desire to leave Roma in the January transfer market. However, nearing the end of the stock exchange, the transfer has yet to materialize.

AC Milan, who had been interested in Zaniolo, finally withdrew from the hunt because it did not match the price set by Rome. An offer from England also came from Bournemouth, but was rejected by Zaniolo.

Like it or not, Zaniolo is likely to remain in Rome at least until the end of the season. The Italy international is under contract until 2024.

“It’s been a month that Zaniolo said that he wanted to leave. Unfortunately, it seems I was right,” said Mourinho as reported by Football Italia.

“I say unfortunately because the player has been saying for a month that he wants to leave. If a player tells everyone that he no longer wants to wear the Roma shirt, I have to say unfortunately,” he continued.

“When a player says to you, the club and his team-mates: ‘I don’t want to wear the Roma shirt, I don’t want to play, I don’t want to go back to training…’ I have to say unfortunately.”

“The ideal situation is for the player to be happy. I said that I wished he had stayed, but so far, I have to add unfortunately to that sentence,” said Mourinho.

Since his future has been speculated, Nicolo Zaniolo has been absent from defending AS Roma in two matches. The 23-year-old player will be parked again when Roma travel to Napoli headquarters in the Italian League continued, Monday (30/1/2023) early morning WIB.
