Mountaintop Studios announced about attracting investments of $30 million to develop its debut online shooter. The team was founded by former developers Double Fine, Valve, Naughty Dog, Riot Games, Respawn Entertainment and Blizzard Entertainment.
Anthos Capital invested in the development, as well as top streamers, including shroud, tarik, iiTzTimmy, Cohh Carnage and Sacriel. Musician Zedd and NBA star Paul George have also invested in Mountaintop Studios.
The developers said that working with popular streamers will allow them to evaluate the production of the debut game and, if necessary, make changes to the mechanics. Also, the expertise of the same Shroud and tarik will have an impact on the development of the competitive aspect.
Mountaintop Studios’ debut game is currently in active testing. A full announcement is expected before the end of the year.
