(ANSA) – GENOA, APRIL 17 – The main construction sites on the Ligurian motorway sections will be removed during the long weekends of April 25th and May 1st. This is foreseen by the new plan to reduce the burden on motorway construction sites on the Ligurian network shared in the coordination table between the Liguria Region, the Ministry of Transport and motorway concessionaires. The progressive suspension of the construction sites with the greatest impact on traffic has been confirmed, in particular during the ‘red flag’ period which runs from 24 April to 5 May. As requested by the Liguria Region, further reopenings are being evaluated to better manage flows in the following weekends in May. Where possible, the removal of unfinished construction sites during the weekends between June and early July was also defined. “The method of meetings held over time demonstrates the effectiveness of a comparison that gives voice to the needs of the territory, always taking into account the essential work on the Ligurian routes – comment the president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti and the regional councilor for Infrastructure Giacomo Giampedrone -. Net of a percentage of structural construction sites that cannot be removed and the possibility of slowdowns due to accidents, we hope to have found the best solution to protect both safety and tourism and trade in a rapidly expanding region. economic”. The Liguria Region also asks dealers to “lighten construction sites on the other weekends in May and early June”. (HANDLE).
