Three cars crashed this afternoon, around 5:15 pm, while driving on the freeway in the Santo António area of Funchal. The accident eventually caused an injury and traffic congestion that went towards Funchal – Santa Cruz.
Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters were deployed and sent an ambulance to rescue a 25-year-old.
The boy, one of the occupants of one of the damaged vehicles, was immobilized and transported to the emergency department of Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
However, in the opposite direction (Funchal-Câmara de Lobos), a car crashed in the tunnel before the Viveiros node, causing traffic delays.
