Motorola has officially unveiled its latest Moto X series smartphone, which is the Moto X40 with the second generation Snapdragon 8 chipset, which is likely to be the cheapest 5G phone from the company.
The most important feature of the new phone is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon SD 8 Gen 2 chipset, which offers the most powerful experience on Android phones.
In addition to the powerful chipset, the phone includes a 6.7-inch screen, with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, with a high refresh rate of 165Hz, which is the first Motorola screen with a high refresh rate, and the phone includes a powerful Adreno 740 graphics processing unit which can take people away from expensive gaming phones. .
As for the battery, it has a capacity of 4600mAh and supports wired fast charging with a capacity of 125 watts and wireless charging with a capacity of 15 watts, and the Moto X40 can be charged from zero to 50% in just 7 minutes via the wired charger.
Setting up the camera on the Moto X40
Moving on to the camera unit, we find a 50-megapixel triple rear camera for the main lens, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens that supports autofocus and can take macro photos from a distance of 2.5cm.
The third lens is 12 megapixels and supports 2x optical zoom. At the front, the phone packs a 60-megapixel selfie camera that sits inside a hole in the center of the screen.
Returning to the chipset, it is the well-known second generation Snapdragon 8, and here it comes with a cooling unit that includes a 3002 mm² vapor chamber.
It comes with 8 or 12GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of 128, 256 or 512GB, depending on the version.
As for the rest of the specs, the Moto X40 comes with two SIM slots and there’s no place for a microSD slot. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone runs on the Android 13 operating system and the My UI 5.0 interface from the box.
What is special about this new Motorola phone is that it has an IP68 water resistance rating, making it capable of operating at a depth of 1.5 meters for a period of 30 minutes.

Price and availability:
The phone was officially launched in Chinaand is available for early booking at a starting price of $490 for the 128GB and 8GB version, and will be available in the Chinese market on December 22nd.
As for the global launch, the company has not yet set an official date for the availability of the Moto X40 in global markets.
