Motorola introduces the new G Stylus, G Power and G Play

“Nobody knows mid-to-mid-range consumers as well as Motorola,” the company said as it unveiled the three new mid-rangers from the G-series. All three can be ordered today, although only pieces are ready to ship, the other two will be available next week.

Moto G Stylus (2021)

The Moto G Stylus (2021) has a 6.8-inch 1080p display – the largest in the G series to date. And it comes with a ‘push pen’ pen which has a click button you can use to pull it out of the phone case.

Snapdragon 678 is used for Android 10 and stylus-only software such as the Moto Note app. You can also use the pen to sketch something or highlight text and quickly copy it to another application.

The phone only has one memory configuration, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage (with a microSD slot for those who need more). The battery has a capacity of 4,000 mAh and only supports the 10W standard for charging.

The camera is similar to Ace (also announced today) with a 48MP main sensor (1: 1.7, 0.8 µm) as well as an 8MP ultrawide (118 °), 2MP macro and an additional 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 16MP module with support for pixel binning. The main camera can record 4K video at 30 fps, the ultra wide camera and selfie can record hyperlapses.

The structure of the phone is made of plastic and features a waterproof design (no IP rating specified). Fingerprint reader moves sideways, 3.5mm headphone jack stays connected.

Moto G Power (2021)

The Moto G Power (2021) offers a bigger battery and a smaller screen compared to the stylus. And of course there’s no pen. This one claims to last 3 days on a single 5,000 mAh charge, compared to just 2 days for the stylus.

You get a 10W charger in the box, but the phone supports 15W if you have the right Power Brick. It also features a tame Snapdragon 662 chipset, paired with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage (with a free microSD slot ready for expansion).

The screen drops to a resolution of 720p. Although the phone maintains a 48-megapixel main camera, the video resolution is limited to 1080p. The ultrawide module is also missing, but two 2MP modules remain.

The new G Power can be yours $ 250Deliveries begin January 13.

Moto G Play (2021)

The Moto G Play (2021) is the cheapest of the three models $ 170 – Units are available today if you like what you see. And what you see is a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with 720p resolution and Android 10 running on a Snapdragon 460 chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage (plus a microSD slot).

It also receives a 5,000 mAh battery that promises 3 days of life between charges (charged at 10 W via USB-C). All three G series phones have 3.5mm jacks and all of them don’t have NFC.

The camera section has a 13MP main camera (1080p / 60fps video), a 2MP depth sensor and a 5MP selfie camera. The selfie camera is in a notch, not a hole like the other three, which underlines that this is a budget option.
