Motorola Edge 40 Neo enters the Czech market already next week
It will be available in the 12/256 GB version and will cost CZK 10,990 incl. VAT
The American brand Motorola introduced three new phones to the Czech market: Moto G84, G54 Power Edition and also a representative of the Edge series, namely the Edge 40 Neo. The phone comes after the quite successful Edge 30 Neo model, but it mainly brings an increase in performance. The rest of the equipment remained more or less similar.
Plastic body, larger display
The body of the Edge 40 Neo model has grown considerably compared to last year, it is no longer a classic compact. We are talking about dimensions of 159 x 72 x 7.89 millimeters and a weight of 172 grams. The device is made of plastic, on the back there is either a vegan leather, or a matte surface for the black version. Connoisseurs will be pleased with the increased IP68 resistance, which is not quite common in the middle class.
The display has also grown, which will not please fans of compact phones. The novelty received a 6.55″ P-OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution at a ratio of 20:9 (fineness of 402 ppi) and a very fast refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The user has the option to switch between 60, 120, 144 Hz, or a dynamic setting. The screen has a hole in the upper part and a 2.5 millimeter chin in the lower part.
Performance, equipment and camera
The more economical MediaTek Dimensity 7030 chipset with a 6nm construction, an octa-core processor and a maximum clock speed of 2.5 GHz beats inside. The graphics accelerator is the Mali G610 processor from ARM. In the Czech Republic, only the variant with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will be offered.
Of the other equipment, it is certainly worth mentioning Android 13 with the July security update, the manufacturer also promises 2 major system updates (Android 14 and 15) and a total of 3 years of security updates. In addition, there is a 5000mAh battery with 68W charging, unfortunately wireless charging has disappeared. Then there is 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and there is an optical fingerprint reader in the display. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos function will also please you.
On the back lies a relatively tiny photo module, which hides two lenses and a single LED for illumination. The main camera is 50 Mpx, has an aperture of f/1.8 and also supports phase focus or optical image stabilization. It is followed by a 13 Mpx wide-angle camera with a function for macro images and a 120° angle of view. There is a 32 Mpx selfie camera on the front, which normally takes photos in 8 Mpx resolution.
Price and availability
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo will officially enter the Czech market on September 22, i.e. next week, as well as the two aforementioned models G54 Power Edition and G84. They will cost CZK 6,299 and CZK 7,299, respectively. Edge 40 Neo offers the best equipment, which is why it is also the most expensive. The recommended retail price is CZK 10,990 including VAT and will be available in blue, green and black.
