Motorist on Urk flips over after wild police chase and wreaks havoc | Flevoland

A motorist wreaked havoc on Friday evening after a police chase on Urk. The man ignored a stop sign, took off and flipped over on the Lange Dam. The driver hit two parked cars, one of which is presumably a total loss. The man tried to escape, but the police managed to arrest him.

At the time of the curfew, around 11:15 pm, the police wanted to check the passenger car at the port area, which also gave a stop sign. The man ignored it and then hit the accelerator firmly. According to the police, for example, he would have reached a speed of about 90 kilometers per hour in built-up areas.

The dangerous driving behavior did not end well for the man, because at the height of the Hooiland things went wrong. Via the traffic island he hit two posts and flipped over. The motorist came to a halt via two parked cars, one of which is a total loss.

Moments later, he could be arrested after a second escape attempt, where the man was fined several times. He can also probably hand in his driver’s license. After that, havoc remained on the Lange Dam. Lots of debris and shards of glass lay on the street. A salvage company has towed the two severely damaged cars.
