DRACHTEN – A motorist left the road on the A7 just after noon on Friday. The man was driving in the direction of Heerenveen when he became unwell. Just after the Drachten junction he drove onto the shoulder.
An ambulance arrived on the scene to examine the man. They also took him to the hospital for a check-up. The car was removed from the roadside by a tow truck and taken away.
Supermarket Coop in Ureterp is closing.
A 32-year-old motorist from the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân was arrested by the police on Thursday.
The fire brigade was called to a house fire on the Ame in Drachten at the beginning of the evening on Thursday.
