MOTORING – Dominican driver Jimmy Llibre wins the 2020 Porsche European Championship

The Dominican driver Jimmy Llibre Jr., won first place in the Porsche 100 miles championship in Austria that took place this Saturday.

The 19-year-old Santiago midfielder had to face a difficult competition due to the rains and in an event held at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg, located in that Austrian city.

In a tweet published by the Dominican Club of Circuit Runners, after his victory, Llibre is defined as “our member, friend and driver” from the Dominican Republic wins the “Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe” race.

He says that in the endurance, the 100-mile race, Llibre started from fourth position to take the first position with a considerable advantage over the rest of the peloton.

“Our most sincere congratulations to Jimmy, you deserve it!”, Says the tweet from the Dominican club of Circuit Runners.

This championship is sponsored by the German automaker Porsche, and is one of the most prestigious motorsport events in Europe.

“I could not look bad for my country, it was my first race in this type of car and it was raining, I really am very grateful to Father God, because without him this would not have been possible, without my father, my family, my grandfather” , said the young man in a message sent to the Dominican people after finishing the race.

A total of 35 drivers took part in the competition, representing 12 countries, using the 485-horsepower Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
