A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a tractor on the Provincial Road in Sint-Amands (Puurs-Sint-Amands) on Sunday evening. A passenger on the motorcycle was seriously injured.

The serious accident happened on the Provincial Road (N17), near the intersection with the Maalderstraat. The motorcycle was driving towards Mechelen and collided with an agricultural tractor that turned into a small street on the other side of Maalderstraat.
The blow was very violent. The motorcycle flew off and hit another vehicle. The two-wheeler eventually came to a stop in the side verge a few tens of meters away.
The motorcycle was thrown several tens of meters and ended up in the side shoulder. — © Theo Derkinderen

The motorcyclist himself, a 51-year-old man from Dendermonde, could no longer help. The man’s passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was seriously injured and was treated at the scene by an emergency medical team. She was taken to hospital. The driver of the tractor was badly beaten and was taken care of by the victim support service of the police.
The N17 was closed between the Oude Heirbaan and Fok. Traffic had to detour locally. The local police Klein-Brabant made the findings of the accident. Because the circumstances of the crash were clear, no traffic expert came to the scene. no
