The return of the motorcycle and scooter technical control is inevitable.
The French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC) is mobilizing against the implementation of the motorcycle technical control announced by the Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune. The FFMC and the French Motorcycling Federation (FFM) met with the Minister of Transport to express their opposition to this measure. Despite this, the Council of State decided to establish it.
The technical control will be lightened
However, the Minister of Transport has proposed measures to lighten the motorcycle technical control, compared to the car technical control, with four times fewer operations. According to Mr. Beaune, the price of the examination could be less than 50€ and the frequency every 5 years, then every 3 years. He also clarified that the jurisdiction will not lie with the dealers.
All motorized 2-wheelers, including mopeds, would be affected. The noise of the machine has not yet been specified. Other alternative measures, in connection with the approval of the e85 box and the possibility for motorcycles to benefit from conversion bonuses, have been validated by the Minister. Clément Beaune also confirmed the commitment to validate alternative measures.
The FFMC calls for civil disobedience and boycott
“We will not resign ourselves to this unjustified administrative constraint”, declares Florian Darras, president of the FFMC. “We call for civil disobedience and a boycott of motorcycle technical inspection, in order to put pressure on the Ministry of Transport. The ministry announced that the public inquiry requested by the Council of State will be an administrative formality and does not represent a line of work seriously studied. The FFMC, however, reiterated its call for the use of such a public inquiry in order to negotiate a better solution for the bikers.
The FFMC thanks the 35,000 bikers who sent their letter
The FFMC thanks the 35,000 motorcyclists who sent their letter to the Minister of Transport to express their opposition to the establishment of motorcycle technical inspection.
The fight goes on !
The biker movement has been fully heard by public authorities and has proven that a strong and clearly expressed mobilization has the power to change things. The FFMC will continue to defend the freedoms and interests of motorcyclists in the context of this fight.
