Motorcycle Racing Legend Predicts Valentino Rossi To Retire After MotoGP San Marino 2021: Okezone Sports

KEVIN Schwantz, a motorcycle racing legend predicts the future Valentino Rossi. According to the world champion of the 500cc motorcycle class in 1993, Rossi will retire after MotoGP San Marino 2021.

Schwantz’s speculation came after he analyzed Rossi’s performance which did not improve. According to him, the appearance of the 42-year-old racer was the worst in his career.

“It’s difficult to see Valentino now. He has never been left behind this far in his career,” said the racer from the United States quoting Motosan, Saturday (10/7/2021).

“Even in its early years in the 125cc, 250cc and 500cc categories it never ended so far behind,” he added.

Kevin Schwantz gives advice to Rossi who is now strengthening the Yamaha Petronas SRT team. He said, if Rossi is still happy to race, please continue. It’s just that, if you always come out in the back position, it is certainly not fun for the 42-year-old racer.

“If Vale can still find a way to enjoy his performances, I highly recommend him to continue. But for me, the joy is being in front of the race. Staying at the end isn’t fun,” Schwantz said of it.

When asked about when Valentino Rossi retired, Schwantz replied, “Maybe it will happen after the Misano (San Marino) MotoGP.”

Apart from that, Rossi’s prowess in riding a motorcycle in the primary class has declined in recent years. He last took the podium at the Spanish MotoGP 2020 by placing third, while in first place, he last won the 2017 Dutch MotoGP.

Although he has not felt on the podium for a long time, Rossi has not yet decided to retire. Rumors continue to spread that the legend will retire at the end of the 2021 MotoGP season.

In MotoGP 2021 Rossi has not had a spur. Rossi, who is now strengthening the Yamaha Petronas SRT team, is in 19th place in the standings with 17 points.
