Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan sign Pergub Number 80 of 2020 about implementation PSBB transition towards new normal. One of the contents of the Pergub contains regulations regarding odd even for motorbikes. Then what is the attitude of the citizens and members of the legislature in responding to this policy of the DKI Provincial Government?
The odd-even policy for motorbikes has received a negative response from a number of parties. DKI residents or members of the DKI DPRD do not support this odd-even policy.
Refusal from Motorcyclists
Employees in Jakarta admit to being disturbed if the odd-even system is enforced in Jakarta. According to them the odd-even system for this motorbike is very troublesome.
“I do not agree. Motorbikes will have limited space (with even odds). Sometimes the alternative is to overcome congestion, right? Jakarta residents or residents outside Jakarta use motorbikes. It becomes quite burdensome (odd even motorbikes),” said one person. a motorcyclist, Bagas (25), when contacted, Friday (21/8).
Bagas revealed he lives in Cileungsi, Bogor Regency and works in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta (Jaksel). To go to work, he admits to using a motorbike every day.
He explained that public transportation access is not sufficient to go to work if the odd number of motorbikes is applied.
Another resident, Sachrul Victor (31), admitted that he did not agree that even odds for motorbikes were applied in Jakarta. He said going to a place in Jakarta by motorbike was still easier and more efficient than taking public transportation.
“For example, if there is (odd even for motorbikes), automatically my work will be hampered. For example, if there is no such thing now (odd even motorbikes), I go, what time is it free, I don’t have to wait for odd even. Not necessarily if there are even odd numbers, the office wants to finance using public transportation, “explained Victor.
“I don’t really agree,” he continued.
