Jakarta –
It turns out that dashboard cameras or dashcams are not only intended for cars. Now dascham cameras are also available for motorbike riders.
For the record, installing a dashcam on a motorbike allows riders to record conversations during the trip or document important events. This can later be used as evidence, both for evidence of accidents, crimes and even insurance claims.
Innovv and Blackvue Motocam Sales Promotion, Singgih, explained that the dashcam has the ability to record events in real-time, second by second, both in front and behind the vehicle.
“So far, they (the public) have only known action cams, like GoPro, but for us, this is a dashcam, which is different from GoPro. The difference is that we are more concerned with security, not for films, videos or videographers of all kinds. We prioritize the data. Use a memory card , micro SD,” said Singgih when met directly in the South Tangerang area a few days ago.
It is known that many people are mistaken about where to install a dashcam on a motorbike. One common mistake is trying to attach it to the helmet. This is actually not wrong, however, not just any helmet can be used. There are some helmets that allow the installation of a dashcam, while others do not.

There is a fairly high risk if the dashcam is installed on an unsuitable helmet. As a head protector, the helmet must be moved continuously to see the road or rearview mirror, which means it not only moves to face forward but also to the right and left. Movement that is too strong on a helmet of inadequate quality can cause the camera to bounce, not to mention if the rider falls from the motorbike.
From a security perspective, Singgih explained that usually dashcams for motorbikes are most often installed at the bottom of the lights, either at the front or at the back. He also added that the dashcam on a motorbike is not used for style, but for security purposes. This camera can be installed on all types of motorbikes.
“It can be used on all types of motorbikes, be it automatic, scooter or sport motorbikes. Usually it is most often used in motorsport. Installing it actually depends on the motorbike, but usually we put it under the lights, headlights and rear lights,” concluded Singgih.
“For us (Innovv) itself, it has a bracket so it’s stronger, even if it shakes, it won’t fall,” he explained.
Choosing a dashcam location again depends on the type of motorbike you have and your preferences as a rider. But one thing is certain, installing a motorcycle dashcam in the right place will provide great benefits in protecting yourself and recording your driving experience.
