There will be no motor show in Brussels Expo between 15 and 23 January. Organizer Febiac has announced this. It will be the second year in a row that the event in the Brussels exhibition halls has been canceled due to corona.

‘We thought it was the most sensible solution in the current context’, explains communications director Gabriel Goffoy as an explanation for canceling the event.
In mid-September, organizer Febiac was still convinced that the fair would go ahead. At that time there was already serious speculation about a possible cancellation. That had everything to do with the decision of Volkswagen importer D’Ieteren not to participate. After that, Jaguar Landrover and Nissan also dropped out.
To concession holders
Febiac now intends to develop an alternative formula. The organization wants to move the event’ to the concessionaires. How this will work in practice remains to be seen later. “All brands will independently launch powerful salon conditions and present their novelties to customers,” Goffoy reports. In this way, according to him, there is a 99th Motor Show.
Ticket sales for the motor show had not yet started. According to Febiac, not too many costs had been incurred yet.
