Motor insurance: the UAR warns against non-compliance with the multilateral agreement

A multilateral agreement signed by insurance companies, limiting reductions to 50% on tariffs for the automobile branch.

However, the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR) noted, for the 2022 financial year, “serious and proven cases of breach of the agreement”.

In a note consulted by Algérie-Eco and dated January 11, the UAR urged companies to “strictly apply the protocol by taking, internally, the necessary measures and informing policyholders that any higher tariff reduction 50% granted with effect from January 1, 2022, is contrary to the agreement in question”.

After calling the insurance companies to order, the Union of Insurers threatened to directly contact the Ministry of Finance to report these overruns contrary to the agreement.
