Dead motor electricity will cause various damages to motorized vehicles. In a motorbike, the electrical system is the most important part to support motor performance. So that the slightest damage will interfere with the function of your motor vehicle.

Motorized vehicles require many components to support motor engine performance. It is not uncommon for some motorized vehicle users to underestimate these components. To keep the motorbike working normally, we need to carry out regular maintenance.

By carrying out regular maintenance, the vehicle supporting components can be controlled and used. This is inseparable from the need for several components in maintaining motor performance. Especially with regard to electrical mechanisms.

Cause Of The Motor Electricity Is Off

If a motorized vehicle suddenly stops in the middle of the road, the first thing that crosses over is of course the exhausted fuel. However, if the fuel is still sufficient, there are several factors that we must pay attention to.

Because the motorbike broke down, it could happen due to several factors. Here we will discuss the causes of electricity to your motorbike to die.

Short Battery Condition

The function of the battery is to store electric power which will affect motor performance. However, with the use of motorbikes, over time the electricity in the battery will decrease.

This causes the battery to become low and unable to function properly. This overdrawn battery is the first cause that makes the motor electricity die.

As a result, the lights will turn off, the horn and starter will not turn on so you need to replace the battery to normalize the motor function.

Blown Fuse

Basically, this fuse is used to secure the motor electrical circuit from large currents. This fuse will anticipate a high amperage of electricity that can burn small wires in the motor’s electrical circuit.

When the motor power is off and the engine also cannot start even when using a kick start, it is probably because the fuse has blown. For your information, in a motorized vehicle there is not only one fuse.

If the lights go out but the starter is still normal, it is possible that only one fuse has blown, namely the electrical body. Conversely, if the light is still on but the engine is off, then the engine’s electrical fuse will blow.

A short circuit occurred

Short circuit can occur when the positive current of the battery directly attaches to the negative current of the battery without passing the electrical load. As a result, all the currents that will flow with a high capacity.

If a short circuit occurs in the main circuit, it will cause the fuse to blow and all motor electricity is completely dead. However, when a short circuit occurs on the line without a fuse, the battery will drain completely and become overdrawn.

Usually a short circuit occurs after a motorbike is exposed to water, for example when washing a motorbike or driving through a flood. Do not rush to replace the fuse, you can check the fuse first. Try to see if there is a peeled cable attached to the motor body.

Broken Spool

Electric motor failure can also be caused by a damaged spool. The spool is a component that converts the engine speed into electricity. Most of the electricity comes from the spool and the battery is only energized when the spool is not turned on.

If there is damage to the spool, the engine cannot rotate so that combustion will occur. When the spool is damaged and the engine can still run, it is because the battery still has electricity. But some time later the motorbike will stall because the battery has failed, so the spark plugs cannot turn on.

Damage to Kiprok

Kiprok functions to regulate the voltage that comes out of the spool so that it does not exceed 14 V. If the kiprok is weak, the voltage sent to the motor electricity will also weaken, even less than 10 V.

As a result, the demand for electricity will be greater than the incoming electricity supply. The problem of damage to the kiprok is almost the same as the spool. But to know clearly we need a multimeter.

Broken wires

In addition to the several causes above, the motor failure of electricity also occurs due to broken cables. If the kiprok and spool are still normal but the motor cannot start with the starter, it is usually because the cable is broken.

To find out is quite difficult, considering that the wiring on the motorbike is very complicated and intersects each other. You need to bring a vehicle to the workshop to deal with this dead motor electrical problem. (R10/HR-Online)
