MotoGP’s Heartbreaking Message to Marc Marquez

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

MotoGP sends a heart-wrenching message to Honda riders Mark Marquez who again experience double vision or diplopia after an accident at MotoGP Mandalika at the Mandalika Circuit, last weekend.

The touching message was conveyed by MotoGP via video uploads on Instagram. In the video, MotoGP shows Marquez’s career journey.

The video also contains the moment when Marquez again won the 2021 German MotoGP at the Sachsenring Circuit. The win was Maruqez’s first after more than a year struggling with recovery following surgery on his broken right arm in an accident at the 2020 Spanish MotoGP.

Reflecting on the unfortunate event two years ago, MotoGP believes The Baby Alien can bounce back.

“After 581 days. All the operations, the pain and suffering, the fear of never going back to the top. All that disappeared when Marc Marquez finally won again at the Sachsenring,” wrote MotoGP in the video description.

Marc Marquez is considered a champion. Because of that, the Cervera-born racer is said to be not going down for a long time.

“The champion is never down for long, and as he did in 2021, we believe Marc will live his day in 2022 once again,” said MotoGP.

Diplopia or double vision is a ‘recurrence’ injury suffered by Marquez. Prior to 2022, Marquez experienced diplopia in the 2012 season while still in Moto2.

When MotoGP 2021 entered the end of the season, Marquez again experienced diplopia after an accident in motocross practice. The injury made Marquez miss the remaining two races: MotoGP Portugal and MotoGP Valencia.

The next race will be held at MotoGP Argentina, 3 April. Live streaming MotoGP Argentina 2022 can be watched on CNNIndonesia.com, while the live broadcast of the race can be watched on Trans7.
