Sprint race British MotoGP finished with Alex Marquez be a winner. The following is the MotoGP standings after the results of the sprint race at the Silverstone Circuit.
Alex Marquez appeared solid and succeeded in becoming the first racer to cross the finish line. Even though he didn’t win, Marco Bezzecchi also reaped good results. Bezzecchi managed to cut the point gap with Pecco Bagnaia.
Bagnaia only finished in 14th position so he is not entitled to any points in this session. Bezzecchi has now collected 167 points, only 27 points behind Bagnaia. Bezzecchi also moved up to second place.
Not only Bezzecchi approached Bagnaia, but also Jorge Martin. Martin won an additional four points and now has 163 points.
The fourth position is occupied by Johann Zarco. Zarco won six points in the sprint race session and now has 115 points.
After the sprint race session, the British MotoGP race will be held on Sunday (6/8). Bezzecchi will start the race from pole position, followed by Jack Miller and Alex Marquez completing the first row formation.
Pecco Bagnaia will start in the second row, fourth to be exact. Apart from Bagnaia, the second row was also filled by Augusto Fernandez and Luca Marini.
