MotoGP rocked by serious crash during qualifying in Moto3 | Moto GP

MotoGP is preparing for the Italian Grand Prix at the Mugello circuit. The motorcyclists of Moto3, the former 125cc class, were in their second qualifying session.

Just before the end, 19-year-old Jason Dupasquier crashed out of a corner, leaving both the rider and his bike on the track. The advancing Japanese Ayumu Sasaki was unable to turn and drove into Dupasquier’s motorcycle.

The two stayed down and the red flag was raised to provide both riders with the necessary medical care. Sasaki turned out to be relatively unharmed afterwards and a third rider involved was also unharmed.

The Swiss Dupasquier appeared to be in worse condition. He lay motionless and was cared for by medical staff for more than half an hour. Finally, an air ambulance landed on the track. According to the organization, the 19-year-old was taken to Firenze hospital for further treatment.

His condition is said to be critical, but more information about Dupasquier is not available at this time.
