MotoGP Racer Marco Bezzecchi from VR46 Team Prepares for Mandalika Despite Injury

MotoGP racer from Italy from the VR46 team, Marco Bezzecchi, who is also known as one of the students of MotoGP legend, Valentino Rossi.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Mooney VR46 Racing Team racer, Marco Bezzecchi, is reportedly making preparations for a trip to MotoGP Mandalika, even though he is still injured. This was confirmed by MotoGP in its official statement published on Wednesday (11/10/2023).

Previously, the Italian racer suffered a broken collarbone after an accident during training at The Ranch Tavulia last weekend. Student of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi was then reported to have successfully undergone surgery not long after.

The incident raised doubts over his participation in Indonesia. However, the racer nicknamed Bez will still travel to Mandalika with the aim of keeping his hopes in the championship standings this season alive.

Sitting in third place in the standings, Bezzecchi is only 54 points adrift of the Ducati Lenono racer who is also Rossi’s pupil, Francesco Bagnaia, who is at the top of the standings.

Bezzecchi admitted that he really wanted to beat his rivals, but he still had to be declared fit to drive in the upcoming medical examination Mandalika MotoGP which was carried out on Thursday (12/10/2023).

Meanwhile, the Mandalika MotoGP is ready to roll out on 13-15 October 2023 and will be the first in a series of triple headers which are scheduled to take place in the next three weeks.

After Mandalika, the racers and teams will immediately leave for the Australian MotoGP and Thailand MotoGP. These three races will be crucial races in the fight for the world title in the 2023 season.
