Great attitude from the French riders in the USA MotoGP Grand Prix, during free practice 2. It was Johann Zarco who set the fastest time of the session, ahead of Jack Miller and Fabio Quartararo. Course and summary of the session.

It’s back to the USA with free practice 2 of the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas. After Free 1, the Suzukis and the Aprilias seem to be favorites but the hierarchy is changing quickly, in the premier category of two wheels. It’s 9:10 p.m. French time and the session has started! For now, Rins is the leader ahead of Vinalès, Miller, Quartararo, M Marquez, Pol Espargaro, Bastianini, Aleix Espargaro, Nakagami and Zarco.

Miller is the first to improve but the Ducati rider does not gain a place. Bagnaia progresses and recovers tenth place from Johann. Martin is also improving, here he is 8th. Bastianini P4. And Dovi new fourth! Mir 9th. Then Miller in the lead, ahead of Bastianini. Pecco takes the provisional 6th place. Zarco 8th, he is back in the top ten. But Martin does better, he is sixth. From now on, it is Maverick who is in a turn. He is the fastest in S1 but loses in S2. He cuts his effort. A few minutes later, the Aprilia rider revived. He is ahead in the first two sectors. P10 for Pol. On the line, Vinalès climbs to second place. P7 for number 5! At 4 tenths. Another improvement in sight, for Rins, who is particularly fast. It materializes on the line, half a second better than Miller. Finally a good qualification in sight, for Suzuki?
Zarco is improving
Zarco in the lead on the first two sectors. But he loses in the third. However, he set the fourth fastest time! Still 21 minutes in these free 2 of the Grand Prix of the Americas of MotoGP. 11th in the provisional classification, Jorge Martin did not improve. On the other hand, Fabio went from tenth to seventh place. And Andrea is also improving, he is in 9th place, ahead of Pecco. Good progress from Bagnaia, who moved up to 2nd. Fabio P4! Now, Johann is 7th. Another 13 good minutes to follow in this session.
Alex Rins is back on track. Half a second ahead of his runner-up, the Suzuki rider seems to be on another planet…Especially since his teammate is 8 tenths behind him, an abyss! But Joan is on track and an improvement could come soon. 7 minutes from the end of these EL2, Rins still leads the dance ahead of Bagnaia, Miller, Quartararo, Vinalès A Espargaro, Zarco, Bastianini, M Marquez and Joan Mir.
The Suzukis take over
Mir improves and takes second place, a provisional double for the Suzukis, finally fast on one lap! Remain a little more than three minutes, the improvements will be linked. Many pilots are ahead of the first sectors. And in particular Martin, P3, M Marquez 2nd but beaten by Miller, new leader. Vinales P4. JZ5 in the lead on the first two sectors. And even on the third! Best time, more than two tenths ahead of Jack! Bastianini P3. Fabio in danger. Marini narrowly enters the top ten. Quartararo P3, our tricolors are provisionally qualified for Q2.
