Jakarta –
LCR Honda rider Takaaki Nakagami benefited from logistical constraints in MotoGP Argentina 2022. Thus, Nakagami could join the race.
As previously reported, the Japanese rider was forced to miss the third MotoGP 2022 series. The reason was that Nakagami was infected with the corona virus after undergoing a mandatory PCR test earlier this week.
However, the cargo problem of the contestant teams that did not arrive on time made the Argentina 2022 MotoGP schedule change. Free practice which is generally held Friday [waktu setempat], was pushed back to Saturday and only held for two sessions before entering the qualifiers. The race itself will still take place on Sunday.
On the other hand, Takaaki Nakagami already negative for COVID-19 after running a series of tests. As a result, Nakagami was able to fly to Argentina on time.
“Earlier this week before flying to Argentina, Taka tested positive but with a high CT value, which indicates a small amount of virus infecting cells, and he is asymptomatic. It has been decided, together with our medical consultants, to repeat the test every few days,” he explained. LCR boss Lucio Cecchinello reported Crash.
“Our Nakaga has now undergone several tests with negative results and will arrive at the paddock on Saturday morning to start on the track, as agreed with IRTA and Dorna.”
The last cargo plane of the MotoGP teams finally arrived in Argentina on Friday (1/4/2022) evening local time. The first free practice of the Argentina 2022 MotoGP is scheduled to start at 12.35 or 22.35 WIB.
At the Argentina MotoGP 2022, Takaaki Nakagami will try to make up for the poor results at the Mandalika MotoGP. Nakagami failed to gain points after only finishing nineteenth so they only got six points after finishing tenth in Qatar.
