MotoGP 2023 ‘Start’ today!

The MotoGP championship for the 2023 season begins today. Not the main race, but the riders will test their racing bikes for use in the 2023 season.

Today, Tuesday (8/11/2022), the MotoGP riders will conduct the Valencia Official Tests. There, some MotoGP riders already wear uniforms and ride new mounts after signing a contract with his team.

In this series of tests, the race teams will release various improvements to their 2023 engines. It is estimated that there will be many new features that will be present in MotoGP bikes for next year.

In addition to the technological side, we can see the new uniforms that some MotoGP riders will wear. Like Jack Miller who will wear the orange uniform after joining KTM. From today Miller will ride the KTM RC16 motorcycle.

Miller is not the only driver to join the Austrian manufacturer. Moto2 World Champion Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo) will debut on a MotoGP bike with the GASGAS Factory Racing Team, while Pol Espargaro will return to ride the KTM RC16 after switching from Repsol Honda.

Honda will also welcome former Suzuki riders Joan Mir and Alex Rins. Joan Mir will ride the factory RC213V with Marc Marquez in the Repsol Honda Team. Meanwhile, Alex Rins will wear the LCR Honda Idemitsu uniform with Takaaki Nakagami.

“This will be another important test for the Japanese manufacturer (Honda) as they continue to overhaul their bikes in an effort to provide a more competitive package in 2023,” MotoGP wrote on its official website.

Aprilia will also make a change. The Italian manufacturer welcomed its first satellite team with Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandes at the wheel.

Ducati is also not to be underestimated. Enea Bastianini will be the teammate of the 2022 MotoGP World Champion Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia in the official Ducati team. The position of Enea Bastianini at Gresini Racing will be replaced by Alex Marquez.

While in Yamaha they still maintain Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli. The Pramac Racing and VR46 Racing Team drivers are also the same as in the 2022 season.
