VALENCIA – Aprilia Racing Team rider, Maverick Vinales he was the fastest in the morning session of the post-season tests MotoGP Valencia 2022. Not only Vinales, another Aprilia rider, Aleix Espargaro, also appeared fast, taking second place and Marc Marquez in seventh.
The test session took place at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, Valencia, Spain, on Tuesday (8/11/2022). Of note, there were four sessions that took place in the morning local time which ended at 1:30 pm local time.
The post-season test this time, as well as being a test bed for the rookie drivers of the new team to test the power of the engine for next season. Like Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo), Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM), Pol Espargaro (Tech3 GASGAS), Joan Mir (Repsol Honda), Alex Rins (LCR Honda), Miguel Oliveira (RNF Aprilia), Raul Fernandez (RNF Aprilia) , Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati) and rookie Augusto Fernandez (Tech3 GASGAS).
In the first test session Vinales was already the fastest. The former Monster Energy Yamaha rider was followed by Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin, Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco. While the rookie drivers of the new team were unable to show off in this first test session.
Then, in the second session, Martin managed to be the fastest with a record of 1 minute and 30.576 seconds. He was followed by Zarco’s tandem who was 50 seconds from drifting in second position. While Vinales collapsed into third position. In this session Bastianini managed to hone his record time by climbing 8 positions to fifth position.
In the third session Aprilia appeared increasingly dominant. Vinales managed to hone his record time again by scoring 1 minute and 30.325 seconds. Aleix Espargaro’s tandem was followed by 73 seconds and Martin third.
