Motocross rider Reissulis in Belgium wins the eighth place in the EMX 125 class

Latvian motocross rider Alberts Reišulis won the eighth place in the class of two races in the 125 cubic centimeter (EMX 125) class of the European Championship on the Belgian track in Lommela on Tuesday in Limburg.

Andrea Bonakorsi from Italy was the fastest in the first race of the EMX 125 class, but Reišulis won the seventh place and finished the fastest lap about 0.7 seconds faster than the leader.

In the second race, the Spaniard David Braserass won, while Reishulis was in 12th place. His fastest lap time was more than three seconds slower this time.

In the 40-race competition, Roberts Lūsis took the 22nd place in the first race, Uldis Freibergs finished in the 30th position, but Jānis Kubuliņš took the 34th place. In the second race, they have positions 24, 28 and 34, respectively.

In the sum of two races, Braseras celebrated the victory with 47 points, while Rešulis was eighth with 23 points. The other three Latvian athletes did not score. Lynx was ranked 25th, four positions below Freibergs, and Kubuliņš 35th.

Bonakorsi is the leader of the championship with 303 points. Reišulis with 64 points is in 18th place, but Mairis Pumpurs with 43 points, which has accumulated ten points, occupies the 43rd position among 56 riders.

Meanwhile, Latvia was represented in the EMX 250 class by Thomas Šileika.

The fastest in the first race was the Italian Matia Guadalajara, while Šileika took the 18th place. The Latvian showed the fastest lap time at the very beginning of the race, but it was seven seconds slower than the Italian.

Tibo Benistan from France took first place in the second trip. Shileika improved her performance by finishing in 14th place and the fastest lap time was about five seconds slower than Benistan.

In the sum of two races, Benistan won with 47 points, but Šileika took the 16th place with ten points.

The leader of the overall standings of the championship with 433 points is Benistan, while Šileika ranks 18th among 63 riders with 95 points.

The next stage is also planned for the Lommela track, but on Wednesday the most prestigious classes of the world championship will go on the track – MXGP an MX2.

Due to injury, Latvian Pauls Jonass will not start in the most prestigious class of the World Championship MXGP.
