On Wednesday, it was reported that the Standing Construct Honda team that Jonas represents will cease operations after this season.
“I am very happy to join the Kawasaki team for the 2025 season,” Jonas wrote.
Jonas joined Standing Construct Honda ahead of the 2022 season.
In his first season in the Standing Construct Honda team ranks, he finished ninth overall, but last season the Latvian had to miss most of the competition due to injuries.
Jonas won the Portuguese Grand Prix earlier this season, but in early June he broke his right humerus in a fall.
In the last race of the last stage of this season, the Spaniard Jorge Prado became the world champion in the MXGP class.
With 274 points collected at the start of the season, Jonas was in 14th place.
