Moto3 Brno, first success for Foggia; 4th Antonelli

The Honda Leopard rider imposes himself in front of Arenas, always solid world leader and Ogura. At the foot of the podium the Sic58 team rider, while Suzuki slips

Peremptory victory of Dennis Foggia in the Moto3 GP of the Czech Republic: for the Honda Leopard rider, in his first career success, a triumph matured with a safe conduct from the middle of the race onwards, defeating the attacks of Albert Arenas, 2nd in the final at the finish line and always solid at the top of the world championship, and Ai Ogura, 3rd. At the foot of the podium Niccolò Antonelli, 4th in ascent from 12th place on the grid, while three other Italians scored points: 8th Tony Arbolino, who collected less than what was sown, 9th Romano Fenati and 10th Stefano Nepa.

The race

At the start the best shot is from Albert Arenas who takes the lead while Rodrigo slips to the center of the group for a boat ride and Arbolino in a couple of laps takes second position. Arenas’ escape plans soon evaporated and from lap 3 it was a group race with Fernandez, Ogura, Suzuki and Foggia in the top positions. Foggia emerges from the mid-race scramble and takes the lead, while on lap 10 Tatsuki Suzuki (turn 10) slips, throwing a good opportunity to prop up his ranking. In the third to last lap, first Arenas gives a fairing to Arbolino who loses ground, then Masia slips. Foggia starts the last lap in the lead, resists the attacks of Arenas and Ogura and crosses the finish line in front of them first. Behind Antonelli, 4th, here is 5th McPhee, 6th Fernandez and 7th Alcoba.
