Moto2 driver Van de Goorbergh runs over his colleague Arbolino in the pit lane

Moto2 rider Zonta van de Goorbergh attracted attention in spectacular fashion during Thai Grand Prix free practice. The young Dutchman immediately eliminated Italy’s Tony Arbolino in the pit lane.

The incident occurred after Van de Goorbergh completed his laps of the Chang International Tour and was sent into the pit lane. There in the middle of the road was Arboline, who had engine trouble. A road marshal had already rushed to help him.

The approaching Van den Goorbergh showed a distance with his head to the left, apparently indicating that he wanted to pass his colleague on that side. But, there was also the marshal. 18-year-old Brabander avoided the man, but then hit Arbolino’s motorcycle and his left leg.

The Italian then went to the side, while Van de Goorbergh stopped and seemed to be moving towards the marshal.

Soon after, 18-year-old Brabander called the Arbolini team garage, who seems to have escaped with a serious injury, to apologize.
