This Friday was a day to forget for Miguel Oliveira. The Aprilia rider suffered several fractures of the radius of his right arm, after a suffered a fall in free practice at the Indonesian Grand Prix in MotoGP.
At the end of the morning, his team, Trackhouse, announced improvements regarding the Almadense’s health status. Oliveira was “transferred to the medical center of the circuit [de Mandalika]where it was confirmed that the right wrist had been broken”.
«He was then transported by helicopter to the Mataram hospital for a more comprehensive examination, which led to the discovery of multiple fractures in the radius bone. The fracture was successfully stabilized, the pilot is conscious and will fly to Portugal for a surgical consultation», explained the team, in a statement.
Miguel Oliveira suffered a major crash in turn four of the Indonesian tour, where he won in 2022, in the first free practice session.
This is the first race the Portuguese driver has missed this season due to injury. Miguel Oliveira, 29 years old, is currently in 14th place in the MotoGP World Championship, with 71 points.
