Moto, champion injured in the face while doing enduro: “They stretched a cable to kill me”

A steel cable, thin and invisible, tied to two trees. An enduro champion training on that path and is thrown off his bike. The terrible photos published on his social profiles to show the wounds on his face from a criminal act which only by pure coincidence did not result in murder.

Tadeusz Blazusiak41 years old, Polish, winner of titles in trial and endurocross, could have died last November 11th, while training in a forest in his homeland. He himself said it in a post shared on Facebook and Instagram: “I want to let the entire off-road community know that there are people out there who are so unstable that they intentionally hurt others just because they hate motorcycles. On Monday November 11th, while walking along a path, I caught a cable that someone had intentionally pulled. Luckily I caught it as I was coming out of a bend and it hit me in the right shoulder and between the chin guard of my helmet and my glasses. If that thread had slipped from the chin guard to my neck, I most likely wouldn’t be writing this post now. Now I’m fine: I was stitched up with plastic surgery and I hope to no longer have problems with the muscles of my face and the scar I have left. I just can’t stop thinking, ‘If I had gotten him right in the neck…’. And I can’t understand how anyone could do something like that to another person.”

The tragic precedents in Italy

The photos of Blazusiak without plasters, before the surgery he underwent, are frightening: the gash, long and deep, starts immediately above the mouth and reaches halfway up the left cheek. If that cable had hit him a few centimeters below, it probably would have decapitated him.

The Polish authorities have opened an investigation into this criminal and deliberate action which unfortunately has several precedents in the world, even in Italy: in 2007, in the Modena area, the engineer lost his life Marco Badiali48 years old, enduro rider by passion. In 2011, in similar ways, he died in Molise Manuel Colantuono19 years old, killed while riding along a mountain path during a meeting of enduro motorcyclists.
