Ladies and gentlemen, mothers’ birthdays and jubilees were celebrated at the Dunakeszi Retirement Tour Club with a presidential poem, a heart-warming mayor’s welcome, a music and dance performance, and an inspiring Hungarian note.

In the theater of the VOKE József Attila Cultural Center, which has been the home of the largest and most active pensioners’ walking club in Hungary for many years, more than two hundred cheerful pensioners from Dunakes sat around the Christmas tables.

Vice-president Edit Radvánszki welcomed the mothers, who were also “dressed up” in celebration of their hearts, birthdays, female and male members of the club, by vice-president Edit Radvánszki , who explained the poem “O és én” written by the president Sándor Zupka in honor of mothers with deep knowledge and the subtlety of the female soul.

The mothers listened with emotional eyes to the poem that pays tribute to the love of a caring mother, who loves, fears and protects her son more than anything and everyone, who ‘teaching humanity, respect, and an honest stance.

After the deeply emotional poem, the author himself, the president of the retirement club, Sándor Zupka, welcomed the members of the club, the guests, the mayor Csaba Dióssi, Attila Csoma, the director of the center cultural, the counselor for the elderly of the city. He received a special welcome from Dr. Dóra Kerekes, head of the István Révész Local History Collection, and Márta Dobay, editor-in-chief of Telekeszi TV.

He then talked about how mothers were already celebrated in ancient Greece. “Our mother is the wonderful and incomparable person with whom we come into contact at birth (but even before) for the first time during our existence on earth, and with whom we have this invisible connection still throughout our lives. Mayor Csaba Díósi said in his holiday greeting that Christmas is the most important family holiday, Mother’s Day is the most beautiful and important personal holiday. Remembering his childhood, he said that he now knows that every moment of his life was spent with his mother’s concern and love. “I always tell my daughters and my son that the most important meaning of life is that a person has a child, because it gives strength and encouragement in difficult times,” said Csaba Dióssi.

He said it was regrettable that today “motherhood takes a back seat” in the lives of young women, and many consider raising a child a sacrifice. This was a question, children were natural for everyone, said the father of four.

The town’s mayor spoke proudly about – despite the national trend mentioned above – Dunakeszi is a friendly town, 22 percent of the town’s population is young , and fortunately, many children are born here.
