Mother’s body in freezer for ten years; Japanese woman arrested

Tokyo: Woman arrested for keeping mother’s body in freezer for 10 years Yumi Yoshino, 48, was arrested.

The woman’s body was found inside a freezer Wednesday in a building in Tokyo. The man who came to clean the house found the body inside the freezer hidden in a private room.

Yumi told police that she had kept the body in the freezer for ten years because she did not want to separate from her mother. Reports indicate that they feared they would be evicted from the house where they lived together if the death came to light. Her mother was 60 when she died. No injuries were found on the body. Experts conclude that even if a postmortem is performed, the time and cause of death cannot be determined.
