Jakarta –
Ladies, let’s keep an eye on the games on children’s cellphones. Recently a children’s game was discovered which turned out to be an online gambling application.
The developer Kosta Eleftheriou has discovered a scam at App Store over the last few months. Most recently they found a gambling application disguised as a children’s game for the iPhone.
These apps look like children’s games, but they are actually online casino apps. They ignored Apple’s in-app purchase system and tricked an unknown number of users.
Through his Twitter account, Kosta shared about the latest fraud he had discovered. The name of the game is Jungle Runner 2k21 which claims to be a fun game for ages 4 and over.
This @AppStore app pretends to be a silly platformer game for children 4+, but if I set my VPN to Turkey and relaunch it becomes an online casino that doesn’t even use Apple’s IAP.

However, for those who open the game from an IP address in Turkey or with a VPN, the app is actually an online casino that uses its own payment system.
Kosta also detailed the misleading advertisements that developers used to promote Jungle Runner, claiming that CNN Turkey had discussed it to lure users. Even though it’s all a lie, as reported detikINET from 9to5mac, Friday (16/4/2021).
The developer also pointed out Apple’s post advertising the App Store as a place users can trust so that people don’t have to think twice about downloading the app.
Since the app is free and the App Store is “a place you can trust” according to Apple, most people at this point will just go ahead and download it. What is there to lose? pic.twitter.com/pyQaHJsUOS

Kosta claims that the app remains on App Store for months and even updates have been approved by Apple. Some reviews say users were scammed with large sums of money and didn’t accept what they bought.
This case is not the first time Kosta has encountered a scam app on the App Store. A few days ago he came across a scam app that ripped off millions of iOS users.
Last month after publicly calling for multiple misuse of the App Store, Kosta filed a lawsuit against Apple over its monopoly and failure to supervise App Store fraud.
