A mother was tried on Wednesday before the Rennes criminal court for administration of harmful substances and violence on minors, report West France. On July 23, the gendarmes intervened in a rural town near Rennes to arrest “a hysterical woman who was shouting suicidal remarks”, the daily specifies. There, one of the girls told them that their mother had crushed pills in a soda.
If the younger had drunk the drink, the older one refused on the other hand and managed to escape from the house with his younger sister. The analyzes had revealed the presence of psychotropic drugs and sleeping pills in the latter’s blood. Suffering from alcoholism for twenty years, the mother explained to the bar that she had plunged again in 2019 after the death of one of her daughters by poisoning. She was sentenced by the court to one year in prison, a sentence accompanied by four years of socio-judicial monitoring with compulsory care.
