It is known that Behar closed herself in one of the churches in the city of Motril and announced that she was starting a hunger strike. She stated that “an inhuman and bloody hunt, which he did not deserve,” began against her son. The official’s mother promised to stay in the church “day and night” until justice was done in her son’s case.
Rubiales has been temporarily suspended by FIFA for 90 days for kissing a Spanish national team player at the awards ceremony after the women’s World Cup final.
