Mother mobilizes to get waffles offline for her autistic son, and the brand surprises her with a gift; check out!

A story of maternal love and a lot of empathy! Canadian Jenna Roman experienced moments of great distress, after discovering that a waffle brand had stopped producing the favorite line of her 10-year-old son Jerico. Although the issue seems to be easily resolved by replacing another type of waffle, the little one has autism and, since the age of eight, has had extreme eating problems. But, thanks to a chain of good, the issue was resolved in the best way.

In an interview with CBS News, Jenna spoke about Jerico’s complicated history with food. To get an idea, last year, the boy fell ill and had a major regression, requiring him to relearn how to eat and drink. Unfortunately for Roman, the waffle his son was used to eating stopped being sold. After many attempts, he approved another product, sold by the Natural’s Path brand and which includes cinnamon in the recipe. What happened?! This waffle also ended production!

I was so relieved that he finally accepted a new type, since I was almost without the old one. I was also happy to be a company that I thought was local, so I wouldn’t have to go through so much stress again ”, remembered. But it was just the opposite … Jenna Roman even made a different kind of “kitty”, asking stores and people who were sensitive to the situation to send their waffle stocks. “I am asking for help to find and cover the costs of waffles and a freezer to store them as they are frozen”, wrote on the site.

In this first attempt, several store managers helped her. Her personal food supply grew so much that she had to buy two extra freezers. “I’m just trying to feed my son, I’ve been through so much with him just eating, something that would be simple for other kids, but it’s an extremely difficult challenge for him”, he was thrilled. The Canadian explained that many people did not understand her situation, and thought that she just needed to give Jerico other products. “It doesn’t work like that. He would go on a hunger strike if I didn’t have his waffles ”he lamented.

Jenna also contacted Natural’s Path, and they agreed to ship the stock they still had. And they went further! The brand developed a recipe so that mom could replicate at home, and made sure to do several tests beforehand to see if the final result would look exactly like what was sold. In addition, they renewed Roman’s stock with ingredients to produce Jerico’s favorite waffle. “Well, I’m very happy to say that our incredible product team was able to adapt our recipe for home use – and we delivered the recipe and all the ingredients to Jerico and his mother Jenna today. Enjoy your food!”, celebrated Samantha Falk, director of communications for the company.
